Job Description


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES:



Guides and equips Fast Track to Missions (FTM) missionary candidates through their individual ministry preparation path so that they gain knowledge, skills and experiences which will help them have a fruitful and sustainable ministry upon field placement.  



SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Fully understands all aspects of FTM program.  Makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Involved with the recruiting and hiring process for all FTMers.

  • Interacts with parents and FTM candidates, clarifies expectations and opportunities.

  • Defines and adjusts the individualized ministry preparation plan, including the sequence of that plan, for each FTM missionary candidate.

  • Assesses development needs for each FTM missionary candidate.

  • Assigns the support-raising coach for all FTM missionary candidates in consultation with the Ministry Preparation Manager.

  • Provides non-financial supervision of FTM missionary candidates through the following ministry preparation requirements: CMI 12 week diploma program, World Headquarters Internship, Summer Urban Assignment, Summer Overseas Assignment, Field Internship and Bible College.

  • Makes FTM support coaches aware of financial needs FTM candidates have as the coach considers payout decisions for those candidates, and makes recommendations regarding those decisions as needed.

  • Provides guidance and help for support coaches who have FTMers assigned

  • Mentors FTM missionary candidates through their ministry, leadership, and spiritual development.  This includes assisting them in setting appropriate goals in those development areas and tracking and assessing progress in relation to those goals.

  • Provides member care for FTM missionary candidates.

  • Leads the Headquarters Internship program.

  • Assigns and evaluates ministry preparation assignments, including reading, writing, and projects.

  • Keeps methodical records of each completed step of ministry preparation.

  • Answers questions that come up, provides encouragement and develops and fine tunes candidate skills.

  • Ensures that missionary candidates develop personal competencies and do not develop dependencies on their relationship with the FTM advisor.

  • Leads the evaluation of FTM missionary candidates’ competencies, growth, and readiness for placement.

  • Helps candidates who are not yet sponsored complete the candidate portion of the placement form and recommends a permanent location in USA or IM.   

  • Communicates with the Education Department when a FTM missionary candidate has completed ministry preparation for diploma and graduation planning.

  • Provides feedback and recommendations to the Education Department to continuously monitor and improve the FTM program.



 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



·        Teaches classes at CMI as requested by the Department of Education and as approved by supervisor.



·        Teaches classes at and helps coordinate Candidate School.



·        Serves as a member of the MSP Hiring Committee for FTM applicants.



·        Performs other duties as assigned.

·        Coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities.



·        Craft individual development plans, evaluate progress in relation to that plan, and adjust that plan as needed.



·        Teach others in large group and small group settings so that learning takes place.



·        Treat others with genuine kindness, concern, sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.



·        Establish objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve those objectives.



·        Communicate clearly, concisely and effectively, both orally and through writing, both face-to-face and long distance (including phone and e-mail skills). 


·        Listen to and understand the information and ideas presented by others.


·        Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.



·        Influence young adults toward specific spiritual and job-related goals.


·        Work cooperatively with others on a diverse team to achieve common goals.


·        Coordinate the activities or tasks of people and groups.


·        Keep organized records of progress and report to supervisors on progress.


·        Supervise others by assigning/directing work and holding them accountable to those assignments.  Take appropriate disciplinary/corrective action when necessary, up to and including making recommendations for termination.



·        Assess educational assignments.



·        Evaluate strategies, actions and outcomes against objectives and make recommendations for improvement.



·        Evaluate applicants and make recommendations for a hiring decision.


  


 


 


 


Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in full-time ministry.
- Prefer full-time ministry experience with Child Evangelism Fellowship.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong knowledge of the Bible
- Strong calling and experience in ministering to high school and college age young adults.
- Extremely strong interpersonal skills; ability to get along with all types of individuals and to make people feel good after an interaction.
- Training and development skills
- Familiarization with the use of personal computer software Microsoft Office - Word, Power Point and Excel.
