Prayer Profile- Mr. Sixte Bigirimana |
|
Mr. Sixte Bigirimana is a CEF worker Bujumbura, Burundi.
Sixte is married to Nitumga Marie Goreth. He and his wife have a
young daughter whose name is A Kimana, which means "answer again".
Sixte begam working for CEF in 2004. He is a child evangelist and
is being trained to be a local director. Sixte also works with the
national director developing teacher training ministry for CEF of
Burundi.
Sixte Reports:
Praise the Lord because peace
reigns more than 90 percent in our country after being shaken by war
for many years. In my field area, I work peacefully.
The
number of children who come to be evangelized grows alot. Saved
children invite Muslims and Catholics to come attend our class and many
among them receive Jesus. One day children from the Catholic church
surprised me. Their teacher entered and she noticed that the number of
children in her class is greatly reduced. She decided to enter in my
class to look for them. "Are there Catholic children here?" They
replied "Salvation is for everybody. We were Catholics but now we are
changed." And the teacher returned alone.
The economy of
Burundi is agriculturally based. Normally we have a rainy season and a
dry season. Unfortunately there are many provinces which have been in a
continuous dry season. The famine reigns in seven of the 17 provinces.
Kirundo, formerly the province ranked first in agricultural production,
is one of the seven. People are dying there because of famine. Others
commit suicide- especially parents who see their children dying before
them. The consequences of that famine reach all of Burundi. Please pray
for all these disaster victims.
Prayer Requests:
- Pray that God provides a CEF office and a telephone.
- Pray that God provides a motorcycle for Sixte to travel between the two provinces in which he works.
- Pray for the children who are famine victims living in the seven Burundi provinces where there is drought.
- Praise God for training seminars that bring more workers into service. Ask God for more training opportunities.
