Recently, we received a full accounting of 2006 “ministry statistics” from most of the 159 countries where Child Evangelism Fellowship© ministry is active. While it’s not a total indication of all that God is doing, these numbers show at least a partial picture of how God is working through our main outreaches of Good News Clubs© and 5-Day Clubs© around the world.  Numbers, however, often don’t mean much unless you put them in perspective.  The below chart is a comparison of statistics from 1995, 2005 and 2006.  By using the comparison we can see how God has magnified His work over 10 years, and with the 2006 statistics see how the trend continues.

This is evidence of God’s Holy Spirit at work in the hearts of millions of children all over the world.  And it is also evidence that we’re getting more effective . . . not just in reaching out to more un-churched children, but in our presentation of God’s love and plan for these dear kids too!

This kind of progress doesn’t happen by accident.  For years, we have faithfully given a significant portion of our budget to train and equip workers in how to effectively communicate with children and most importantly, how to make a presentation of the Gospel so clear and simple that even a child of 5 can understand what it means to ask Jesus into his heart and life.

Another Important Statistic: In 2005  - 270,467 teachers were trained by CEF worldwide

All of our workers go through at least 30 hours of intense training in order to become a certified CEF teacher.

This is what is so amazing about this number . . .only 10% of these volunteer teachers work with CEF!  That means that nearly a quarter million teachers are working elsewhere – in churches, in schools, in local outreaches that are not at all affiliated with CEF.

And if we are seeing over two million children come to Christ just through CEF outreaches (where only 10% of this year’s teacher graduates worked) – imagine how many more children are coming to know Jesus through the work and ministries of these other 240,000 plus children’s teachers! And this is only one year. 

We do not present these statistics boastfully.  We do maintain however that an investment in CEF is an investment in the most spiritually productive harvest field in the world – reaching children for Christ.  CEF does more of this than any other ministry.
