Field Placement FAQ
How
is placement determined?
If a candidate is not already sponsored by a CEF Unit, there
are four components that go into making a placement decision: 1) The desire of
the missionary candidate, 2) The recommendation of the ministry preparation
coach, 3)The greatest needs in the nation or overseas, and 4) The agreement of
the proposed CEF Unit to sponsor the MSP missionary. If a candidate is already sponsored, they
will be placed in the sponsoring local or state unit.
If
a current or potential worker is sent to join the MSP program by a particular
CEF Chapter, will that worker end up working somewhere else?
A state or local area that sends a sponsored candidate
through the MSP program will get that missionary back upon completion of the
program; we will not send the missionary to a new location. As per the MSP Agreement, a sponsored
missionary agrees to serve in the sponsoring unit at least two years after his
ministry preparation is complete.
What
does the MSP Agreement say about placement?
After Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. has placed a
missionary in a sponsoring CEF unit, that unit commits to providing a position
to the missionary for a minimum of two years and the missionary also commits to
spending a minimum of two years in that unit.
Anytime after the commitment period, the CEF unit may choose to release
the missionary from placement. The CEF
unit will inform WHQ/Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. of its request. WHQ/Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. will
contact the missionary.
After the commitment period, the missionary may request a
transfer. The missionary should discuss
this decision with WHQ/Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc. and his field
supervisor.
If
a MSP missionary is unable to resolve a conflict with his field supervisor, how
will it be handled?
In a conflict situation, WHQ/Child Evangelism Fellowship
Inc. will consult with all parties to resolve the issue. If resolution is not possible, the MSP
Agreement may be dissolved or the missionary may be transferred to another CEF
Unit.
