Field Sponsorship FAQ
Who sponsors MSP candidates?
MSP candidates are sponsored by a state office and, when
appropriate, a local chapter.
What are the responsibilities of sponsoring units?
Sponsoring units are responsible to provide ministry
supervision once the missionary is placed in their field of service. Ministry supervision will include, but not be
limited to: managing the ministry activities and ministry priorities, managing the
missionary's performance as related to his job description, and managing the
growth and development of the missionary.
The CEF unit supervisor will ensure that the missionary
attends required conferences and continuing education as required by Child
Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. He will allow
the missionary to take at least five of his allotted vacation days
consecutively in each calendar year.
The CEF unit will allow additional deputation time as
determined by Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc.
The CEF unit may optionally make a commitment to help the
new missionary financially.
What
does the MSP Agreement say about placement?
After Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. has placed a
missionary in a sponsoring CEF unit, that unit commits to providing a position
to the missionary for a minimum of two years and the missionary also commits to
spending a minimum of two years in that unit.
Anytime after the commitment period, the CEF unit may choose to release
the missionary from placement.
After the commitment period, the missionary may request a
transfer. The missionary should discuss
this decision with WHQ/Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc. and his field
supervisor.
Will a current worker need to be interviewed by the
MSP Hiring Committee?
All those interested in becoming a part of the MSP program,
whether new or current workers, will need to be interviewed by the MSP Hiring
Committee before they are hired by Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. and
accepted into the MSP program.
