About four million people call the U.S. military “home.” This includes over one million children of military and civilian personnel. Within this American subculture, approximately 25 to 35 percent of the people in a given community move every year. Children must continually adjust and make new friends. They live with the pervasive knowledge that one or both parents could be deployed, possibly even killed. To meet the unique needs of these boys and girls, Military Children’s Ministry is making strides on U.S. military bases to reach the children in these uncertain surroundings with the love of Jesus.
MCM began stateside ministry at Ft. Hood, Texas, the largest military
installation in the world. After three years, all seven elementary
schools on post had a Good News Club ministry for children. Because of
the great success on post, the surrounding communities began requesting
public school Good News Clubs. Within three years, MCM ministry has
spread to installations in Missouri, Kentucky, California, and
Washington.
However, there are many more installations that desire for MCM to begin
ministry. MCM has opportunity to ministry to military kids in North
Carolina, Maryland, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nevada, just to name a few.
Your gift will enable MCM to move forward in our efforts to open new
ministry in these states. We will be able to impact the lives of
hundreds of children on each installation through public school Good
News Club, CEF Mailbox Club, vacation bible schools, children’s
retreats and special programs. As these children face the deployment
of a parent and constant change, MCM will be there to offer stability
and share Christ’s love.
