Praise and Praise Items for November 2009

State flags fly in the USA Plaza in the Kraft Prayer Garden at CEF® International Headquarters.  They remind us to pray for the children living in those states. One of the flags represents a target state. A target state is one where we pray for the provision of a state director.  This month, Vermont is our target state.

USA—Moises Esteves - Vice President of USA Ministries
Prayer Requests:
Pray for 200 new workers for the USA.
Pray for two more district directors and seven state directors.

Praise Items:
Good News Across America—109 workers from 26 states went to Little Rock to partner with 30 churches to reach 1,874 children—Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord for eight new state directors and six new state coordinators this year.

Vermont—Target State - Ed Richardson, State Board Chairman
Prayer Requests:
Pray for two to three more state board members.
Pray for a state director and/or local directors for Southern Vermont.

Praise Items:
Praise God for the great summer missionaries (4) this year.
Praise Him for the ten who prayed to receive Jesus as Savior.
Praise Him for answered prayer—giving Vermont help when we needed it and letting the summer missionaries see His hand working in lives.

Iowa—Beth Lamb—State Director
Prayer Requests:
Ask God to raise up chapter directors in Black Hawk, Heartland and Iowa Great Lakes Chapters. They have active committees but need staff.
Ask God to help us develop leaders from our Chrisitan Youth In Action® teens.

Praise Items:
Praise God for two new state board members.
Praise God for several new school Good News Clubs starting across the state this fall.

Delaware—Tom Bump—State Director
Prayer Requests:
Pray for Katie Pennell who is going to Children's Ministries Institute® in January and is asking for God’s leading.
Pray for one person to lead the ministry in each of the three counties of Delaware.

Praise Items:
People have responded so we might have nine Good News Clubs going by the end of October.
Ministry on the  Dover Air Force base is growing. There is Bible time and a Good News Club® for the children and a Bible study for the ladies.

Kentucky—Kari Ash—State Director
Prayer Requests:
Ask the Lord of the Harvest to provide a director and staff for the Greater Louisville chapter, along with a teacher training team and field missionaries to pioneer and develop the ministry throughout the state.
Pray for additional prayer partners, donors, teachers, helpers and board/committee members to join us in reaching Kentucky’s children for Jesus.

Praise Items:
Praise God for excellent ministry partnerships prompting great interest in after-school Good News Clubs throughout the state!  Praise for the committees and volunteers actively serving in our two organized chapters.

Louisiana—Randy McKee—State Director
Prayer Requests:
Our Shreveport chapter is in need of an active committee and local director.
Pray for some new work to start in the Lake Charles Area.

Praise items:
CYIA™ this year. We reached over 9,000 kids with 5-Day Clubs!
There were close to 3,000 decisions.

Utah—Brady Snyder—State Director
Prayer Requests:
We need a CYIA/summer missionary coordinator Good News Club planter. 

Pray for more full-time workers in Utah.

Praise Items:
GNAA is coming to Salt Lake City in 2011.
Over 700 people heard the Gospel and over 160 made professions of faith at the Utah State Fair this year through CEF of Utah’s Wordless Book Tent.

West Virginia—Harry Boekell—State Director
Prayer Requests:
Local directors needed for: Little Kanawha Valley Chapter, Eastern Panhandle Chapter and North Central Chapter.
Office secretary for Greater Huntington Chapter and little Kanawha Valley.

Praise Items:
Praise to God for giving CEF of WV a great staff: 13 full-time and part-time workers and 448 volunteers.
Praise to God for using the staff to increase the number of Good News Clubs and 5-Day Clubs in the ministry year 2008-2009.
