New doors open daily to the Child Evangelism Fellowship® What Went Wrong?™ program by which inmates are able to enroll their children and themselves in the CEF Mailbox Club™..
A three-state pilot program is under way in partnership with Prison
Fellowship's Angel Tree program.
The immediate result will be an influx
of students this month of 15,000 children in New York, Missouri and
Illinois who will receive a poster and lesson in the mail.
One benefit of this partnership is that each address is verified
and the caregiver is already willing to accept materials. Pray that
each of these children will continue through the whole lesson series.
Above all pray for their salvation. They face situations most children
never have to deal with. Take Josè, for example, a seventh grader from
Ohio who wrote on his lesson "[I feel angry] when I think about what
happened to my mom and a few friends. My mom got jumped and a few
friends got killed."
Jesus changes lives and He can transform the hearts and minds of
these children before they find themselves in the place of Alex, an
18-year old inmate and CEF Mailbox Club™
student who writes, "Lonely is what I'm going through locked up and no
one to talk to. No calls, no email- just me in my lonely cell... No
key, just a door, an enemy. Without you I will be lonely."
Anger, loneliness, shame- even one of these emotions can be
overwhelming to anyone. Many children of inmates feel them daily. This
is just one reason your ministry as a Legacy Changer is so vital. CEF
thanks you on behalf of these children for being the difference in
their lives that points them to Christ.
