Q: When is international conference?
A. Starts with registration Monday afternoon, May 8, and ends with breakfast on Saturday, May 13, 2017. The last evening session ends at 9PM on Friday, May 12, 2017.
Q: Where is international conference held?
A. Ridgecrest Conference Center, North Carolina.
Location: Ridgecrest is located 17 miles east of Asheville, North Carolina, on Interstate 40, Exit 66, approximately 30 miles from the Asheville Regional Airport and 18 miles from the Asheville Bus Station.

The street address Ridgecrest lists online does not work in most GPS systems and mapping programs. GPS Coordinates of Ridgecrest are 35 degrees 37′ 16.36″ N. by 82 degrees 16’38.03″ W.

Q: How can I see CEF International Headquarters (IHQ) after conference?
A. You can indicate on your registration form under “TRAVEL INFORMATION” that you would like to visit IHQ. There is limited capacity at Headquarters so be sure to register early.
There will be buses taking visitors from the conference center to CEF IHQ. If you are planning to visit IHQ, you must have your ticket booked before arriving to USA to leave from St. Louis International Airport STL. The days you spend at IHQ are at no charge to you.
Visitors who are not National Directors will arrive to IHQ late Saturday night, May 13, 2017 but must leave by Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017. Room check outs at IHQ is 9 AM. National Directors will be coming to IHQ late Tuesday night, May 16, 2017 and must leave Thursday morning, May 18, 2017.
Q: What are the guidelines for arriving by air to North Carolina?
A. All USA attendees traveling from within USA need to fly to Asheville Regional Airport (AVL). Ridgecrest is about 45 min – 1 hour away from AVL.
a. Best to arrive at airport before 2:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2017.
b. Best to depart from AVL Saturday May 13, 2017 between 10 AM – 12 PM.
c. CEF will provide free transportation from AVL to Ridgecrest.
d. Check off choice in registration form.
B. International guests have two airport options (indicate in registration):
a. Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) Ridgecrest is about 45 min – 1 hour away from AVL.
i. Best to arrive at airport before 2:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2017.
ii. Best to depart from AVL Saturday, May 13, 2017 between 10 AM – 12 PM.
iii. CEF will provide free transportation from AVL to Ridgecrest.
b. Charlotte International Airport (CLT). Ridgecrest is about 1 hr 45 min – 2 hours away from CLT.
i. On Monday, May 8, 2017, there will be 4 shuttles that leave Charlotte Airport: 4 PM, 5 PM, 6 PM, and 9 PM.
ii. In order to arrive at Ridgecrest in time for the Monday evening opening session, you must arrive at the airport before 3:15 PM Monday, May 8, 2017, in order to board the 4 PM shuttle.
iii. Departing from CLT Saturday, May 13, 2017: the last shuttle leaves in the morning. All afternoon and evening flights will need to leave with the morning shuttles.
iv. Shuttle transportation from CLT to Ridgecrest or Ridgecrest to CLT is $20 one way.
Q: Can I fly into Charlotte International Airport?
Only if you are an international attendee. There will be pick up for only international guests flying into Charlotte: one way transportation fee is $20. Refer to question “What are the guidelines for arriving by air to North Carolina?”
Note: Transportation between Charlotte Airport and Ridgecrest Conference center is a 2.5 hour ride. For drop off to Charlotte, there will be limited rides available.
Whatever your departure time is, keep in mind you will be departing Ridgecrest 4.5 hours earlier than your departure time.
Example: If you book a flight departing at 12 noon, you will be leaving Ridgecrest at or before 7:30 AM.
Ridgecrest room check-out is 10 AM. Avoid booking a flight that departs later than 4:30 PM.
Q: How can I receive my invitation letter? When?
A. International Ministries is sending invitation letters now. After we receive approval from your regional director, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the excel document you will need to fill out in order to receive an invitation letter. Please make sure your passport does not expire before May 31, 2017. Invitation letters will be emailed to you.
Q: Who pays for the cost to travel to and from International Headquarters?
A. CEF does not charge visitors who visit IHQ from the conference center.
Q: Which languages will be available for translation?
A. Usually Spanish and Korean are available. Other languages will depend on which translators Regional Directors will send.
Q: What if I want to drive to conference?
Driving Directions: The drive to Ridgecrest through the Blue Ridge Mountains is absolutely beautiful.
Follow Interstate 40 to Exit 66 (Ridgecrest). At the top of the ramp turn left (if coming from Nashville
or the west) or right (if coming from Winston-Salem or the east). At the first junction turn right onto
Old U.S. 70 and continue a short distance to the Ridgecrest entrance on the left.
Directions from Asheville Regional Airport: To reach Ridgecrest by car from the airport, go west on I-26 toward Asheville. At the junction of I-40 go east on I-40 to Exit 66. At the top of the ramp turn left. At the first junction turn right onto Old U.S. 70 and continue a short distance to the Ridgecrest entrance on the left.
Rental Cars: Several car rental agencies are available at the Asheville Regional Airport, including Avis, Budget, Hertz and National.
Airline Service: Asheville Regional Airport is serviced by several carriers including Delta/Delta

Q: What is the theme?

Q: Will we be in all 207 countries?
A. We will be exactly where God wants us to be. Only He will know.
Q: What is the cost for the conference?
A. The whole package cost for conference, housing, and meals can be found here.
Note: There are a limited number of room choices, so book early! Also room choices are not guaranteed.
Q: What happens if I register late?
A. Preferred rooms may be gone and the room arrangement you would like may not be available.
Q: What happens if there are not enough rooms at Ridgecrest?
A. Attendees who have cars may be asked to kindly find lodging near Ridgecrest on their own and pay Ridgecrest for the program and meals for the week.
Q: Are there scholarships available for international attendees?
A. Regional Directors will have a limited number of scholarships to give out to individuals within their region. They will be selecting recipients and communicating with them. Please speak to your regional director if you have questions.
Q: Are meals included in the cost?
A. Yes, meals are included in “Conference Cost Package” prices.
Q: Will there be white rice at meals?
A. Yes. It usually is on the side bars.
Q: Will there be gluten-free and/or dairy-free options at meals?
A. Yes. There will be signs to help you identify items that are allergen-free.
Q: How can I make sleeping arrangements / roommates requests?
A. In the registration form, write down roommates in the “Conference Cost Package: Housing, Meals, and Program” section.
Q: Do I need approval from the Regional Director?
A. Yes. You must receive approval before you are able to register or receive an invitation letter.
Q: I’ve been to America for CEF business three times already. Can I still come for conference?
A. Yes, you are welcome to come, provided that your Regional Director has approved.
Q: What if my flight arrives early and I need to stay overnight Sunday, May 7?
A. There will be no shuttles picking up guests from airports on Saturday May 6 or Sunday May 7. You are responsible to find your own lodging for nights before Monday, May 8.
Q: Is there public transportation to the conference site?
A. No, unless you are willing to pay for taxi, which is very expensive.
Q: Is childcare provided?
A. Yes. Free childcare is provided for ages 0-11 during the two morning sessions and evening sessions only. No childcare is provided during afternoon session. You will be directed to the location/building when you arrive.
Q: What is the weather like?
A. The average temperature high in May is 75F / 23.9 C and average low is 53F / 11.7 C. It is cooler in the morning since the conference center is in the mountains. Bring a sweater or something warm for indoor air conditioning. Rain is always a possibility.
For those accustomed to much hotter climates, the temperature inside the buildings may be much cooler than you are accustomed to. We suggest bringing a few sets of warmer clothing as necessary.
Q: Link to CDC? Vaccines?

Q: Can I present a seminar session?
A. The International Ministies team is planning the program with input from international staff and have already selected the seminars to be presented.
Q: Can I set up a booth as a vendor?
A. We already have a vendor list. However, you may email Nancy Butler at Nancy.Butler@cefonline.com to check for availability of remaining booth space.

Q: What if I need to spend extra days in the Asheville, NC area after conference?
A. If you are coming from outside USA, be sure to seek the approval of your regional director. You will be responsible to find housing after conference is over and cover all costs.
