The auditorium at CEF International Headquarters rang with praises to God on Friday, May 18 as 300 workers and guests gathered to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, to express appreciation to those who have given their lives to reaching children through CEF and to challenge the next generation.
The event was preceded by 75 hours of prayer and a two-hour prayer summit. From praying "Korean style" - everyone speaking out loud at the same time - to small groups gathering around retired workers to thank the Lord for their contributions, the focus was on God's greatness and faithfulness over 75 years of CEF ministry.
The celebration included testimonies, videos and a special address by Warren Wiersbe. Regional directors carried four new flags down the aisle for the four countries just opened, bringing the total countries with ongoing, daily CEF work with children to 180. Two of these countries may be mentioned, the Caribbean country of Dominica and West African nation of Guinea-Conakry. Statistics from 2011 were announced - 12.1 million children reached, an 11.1 percent increase over 2010!
