A Child in Need Will Get Free DVD Of ‘Theo’ for Every One Purchased
The creators of “Theo” and Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) have partnered to launch a “Buy One – Give One” campaign that will make the new animated series available to children around the world.
“Theo” uses high-quality animation, timeless Bible stories and liberal doses of humor to guide young-at-heart audiences through a systematic study of the foundations of Christianity.
“Theo the Theologian loves God, and he loves children (of all ages), of all nations and ethnicities,” creator Mike Joens said. “He teaches the fundamentals of Christianity in a way that is both entertaining and biblically sound to kids from two to 92 who love cartoons and have an appetite for God's Word.”
The first DVD in the series, “God’s Love,” was just released in Christian retail stores and online at http://theopresents.com. It includes three full-length episodes, “Saving Faith,” “Loving Obedience” and “Forgiveness,” as well as the bonus episode, “Good News,” which features a presentation of the Gospel.
Every person who buys a “Theo” DVD has an opportunity to participate in the “Buy One
– Give One” campaign. Whitestone Media, which produced the cartoon, and CEF will match the purchase by sending a child in need a free “Theo” DVD, once the buyer designates the region of the world where it should be sent.
The cartoon is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Hindi and
Japanese. CEF works in 170 countries, including the United States.
The launch of “Theo” represented the culmination of a dream that began 33 years ago for Joens, when he started working in the animation industry for studios such as Hanna Barbera, Filmation, Warner Brothers and Marvel Productions.
He now has his own company, Whitestone Media, a Christ-centered animation studio dedicated to sharing the truth of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
“I eventually want to use ‘Theo’ to present the Gospel to men, women and children in every country around the globe,” Joens said.
“Theo” DVDs will be distributed through CEF’s Boxes of Books initiative. CEF mails more than 1,000 boxes per month.
“Child Evangelism Fellowship is dedicated to seeing every child reached with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, discipled and established in a local church,” said Reese Kauffman, president of CEF. “That makes ‘Theo’ a perfect match for us.”
