We Can't End Good News Club

Pratima Sukrah, from Guyana, decided to practice telling the Wordless Book to her three-year-old nephew, Daniel. She was a bit skeptical about doing so but when she asked if he wanted to believe in the Lord Jesus as his Savior, he literally jumped out of his chair saying, "Yes, yes, I do!" Little did she know how God's plan would unfold in the years ahead.

Daniel grew up attending Pratima's Good News Club. When God called Pratima to join the CEF North American Caribbean region staff, she wondered who would take over her club. She seriously considered telling the children that the club would have to end because there were no teachers to take over. But Daniel, then 14 years old said, "But we can't end Good News Club! I will teach the club!" And so he did! He began teaching and continued to do so for several years.

After graduating from high school he began considering various career options, one of which was to become a full-time CEF staff worker. His aunt wasn't so sure this was the best and actually tried to discourage him. But Daniel said, "I'm going to fast and pray about it."

Pratima left for assignment in Grenada. The next week, she anxiously called Daniel and asked, "What is the Lord saying to you?"

"The Lord is telling me full-time ministry," he responded. Today Daniel is 19 years old and on staff with CEF of Guyana as Good News Club coordinator for 50 clubs. He organizes workshops and prayer rallies, helps with curriculum and teaches six Good News Clubs!
