USA Plaza Prayer Requests
Praise and Praise Items for September 2010People often need a reminder to pray. We have a visual reminder here at CEF® International Headquarters. It is the USA Plaza in the Kraft Prayer Garden where state flags fly representing the children living in those states and the workers needed to reach them.
Flags of states and metro areas in the United States are raised monthly and are a call to prayer for the CEF work in each of the states.

Urgent Prayer Focus:
State coordinators/directors are key leaders in the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Kansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Vermont and Washington, DC need a key state leader. Would you ask God to provide His chosen leaders for these states? This month, our intercession is particularly focused on New Mexico.
We are thankful for the thousands of CEF volunteers across the country. Yet, we are in critical need of full-time workers. Please be praying for 200+ additional CEF missionaries for the United States.

TARGET STATE – New Mexico—Edward Tate, State Board Chairman
Prayer requests:
1. Pray for a state director.
2. Pray for the young couple whom God is leading to be the state coordinator for New Mexico, and that couple's pursuit of Children’s Ministries Institute certification, and their funding.
Praises:
1. The first chapter of CEF of New Mexico, the Los Alamos County Chapter. The paperwork is being reviewed for approval byat CEF USA Headquarters.
2. Two CEF of New Mexico Board Members meet with three Pastors in the village of Thoreau and city of Gallup to explore their interest in ASGNC.
Northern California – Sue Spillman, State Director
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray that God will send us a staff worker for Golden Gate Chapter (San Francisco).
2. Directors are needed in eight local areas.
Praises:
1. God intervened with Liberty Counsel’s help so our after-school Good News Club flyers could be distributed in Elk Grove School District with the words, "Bible, Scripture and spiritual training."
2. 5-Day Clubs were held in two new areas in the Lake Tahoe area.
Hawaii—John Dekle, State Director
Prayer Requests:
1. A local director is needed for the city and county of Honolulu which has been without a director for many years.
2. The current office administrator will leave at the end of the year and we need a replacement to begin training as soon as possible so the transition will be smooth.
Praises:
1. Praise the Lord for 2000 children reached this summer in clubs and camps with 132 responding to place their faith in Christ.
2. Praise the Lord for the generosity of children who gave more than twice what is normally given in missions offerings this summer ($2317.) to help the Moriah project in Fiji.
Maryland—Martha Wright, State Coordinator
Prayer Requests:
1. We are in need of an administrative assistant for the office.
2. Pray for Martha as she adjusts and leads.
Praises:
1. A new state board member just joined.
2. Someone donated office furniture.
Minnesota—David Tunell, State Coordinator
Prayer Requests:
1. Please pray for three or four additional state board members to come alongside the current board.
2. Please pray for one or two staff members to help Director Maureen Berger in the Twin Cities Chapter.
Praises:
1. Praise for the start-up of the new Great River Chapter about 45 minutes NW of the Twin Cities. A committee has started to set goals and is putting together a strategy for expanding the ministry.
2. Praise for the 14 summer missionaries who spent their summer teaching 5-Day Clubs.
Missouri—David Avery, State Director
Prayer Requests:
1. Ask God to lead us to the right local director for the St. Louis Chapter.
2. Pray for God’s provision of additional volunteers for Good News Clubs as more churches are inquiring about the Good News Club program.
Praises:
1. Praise God for several churches in the boot heel area of Missouri who have contacted the state office regarding the after-school Good News Club program.
2. Praise God for the office space opened to the Mid-East Chapter at no cost.
New Hampshire—Peter Weeman, State Director
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for a camp director for their Camp Good News.
2. Pray for Mark and Jeanie Lester who are preparing to come into ministry.
Praises:
1. Praise God for their good Christian Youth In Action young people.
USA—Moises Esteves, Vice President USA Ministries
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for the state and local missionaries as they finish the summer ministry—to have strength and be Spirit filled.
2. Pray that God will call over 200 new workers to serve in the USA.
Praises:
1. Praise God for a blessed and fruitful ministry during Boston ‘10. Praise for about 2,000 children reached with the Gospel.
2. Praise God for 160 workers who came to Boston from 27 states. Pray that God will call many to become full-time workers.
