Child Evangelism Fellowship wants to partner with Indianapolis churches this summer to impact your community for Christ. Child Evangelism Fellowship will provide the training, the tools and the team to help your church launch and sustain ongoing evangelism and discipleship in the neighborhood around your church. We will help you take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to where the children are this summer — parks, community centers, apartment complexes, boys and girls clubs and recreational centers. We will also help you take the Gospel to where the children will be this fall — the public schools of Indianapolis and the surrounding communities. As the children are reached, their families will be impacted and you will have the joy of seeing those families in your local church.
Good News Across America began in Chicago in 2008. Approximately 100 CEF workers converged on the city for two weeks of ministry to partner with nearly 30 churches. Nearly 2,000 children, most of whom were unchurched, heard the Gospel and 137 of them trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior after talking with a trained counselor.
God used our most recent GNAA event in the Twin Cities to reach over 2,200 children with the Gospel with 309 of them trusting Christ as their Savior.
Over 23 Chicago churches launched Good News Clubs in the public elementary schools and more are being launched in Little Rock, Boston, Salt Lake City, the Twin Cities, Denver, and Portland. Almost 6,000 of these clubs meet weekly across the country in schools and community locations. We want you to join us in taking the Gospel back into the public schools!
The Good News Across America plan is built on a two-phase strategy.
In Phase One, CEF provides your church a team of four or five trained missionaries to work alongside your church volunteers to reach children and families in your community. We will help your church launch and sustain ongoing evangelism and discipleship in the neighborhood around your church. We will help you take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to where the children are this summer — parks, community centers, apartment complexes, boys and girls clubs and recreational centers.
In Phase Two, CEF provides the tools and the training for your church members to have effective outreach into the public elementary schools in your community. We will help you to take the Gospel to where the children will be this fall — the public schools of Denver and the surrounding communities. As the children are reached, their families will be impacted and you will have the joy of seeing those families in your local church. The result is new believers who become the new families becoming an integral part of your ministry.
The six-step plan of Good News Across America has proven effective in helping churches reach their communities and have lasting impact.
Step One: We work with you to IDENTIFY THE TARGET AREA IN YOUR COMMUNITY. Your ministry team will be assisted by a CEF ministry manager in choosing three locations for outreach in your community. The team can be used to enhance your existing outreach in the community to aid you in launching new ministry – the choice is yours.
Step Two: We want to partner with you to INVOLVE YOUR CHURCH IN REACHING YOUR COMMUNITY FOR CHRIST. Every member of your congregation can play a vital role on the team. Some can pray for the children, the families and the church as you build a bridge to your community. It’s a wonderful way to mobilize your church in a common goal and see them come together for the work of the ministry. Others can promote the summer clubs by going door to door to hand out flyers, putting up posters in the area and inviting friends and neighbors. Still others can serve alongside the CEF team by helping with snacks, games, name tags and building relationships. Involve every segment of your congregation – young and old alike; not only will they be used of the Lord to share the Gospel, they will catch the vision of reaching the next generation for Christ.
Step Three: It’s time to IMPACT THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES OF YOUR COMMUNITY with high octane 5-Day Clubs. It’s daily Vacation Bible School on the road – going to where the children are with high energy games, relationship building activities and a clear presentation of the Gospel. Church volunteers will serve alongside CEF trained workers and you will be amazed at what the kids learn and how they remember the things taught from day to day. All the while you will be reaching unchurched children and families that might not otherwise hear the Gospel. All week long the team will be building bridges into the community and on Friday night we ask those children and families to walk across the bridge that has been built and attend a rally at the local church.
Step Four: We INVITE THE FAMILIES OF YOUR COMMUNITY to the Friday night rally. Because we have spent an entire week building relationships, we see many families attend the rally and churches have the opportunity to continue to develop those relationships and establish an on-going outreach into the community. Many churches have seen these families come to know Christ and become a regular part of their church family.
No doubt, if CEF could effectively partner with you in Phase One to reach unchurched families in your community and get them to your church on Friday night – the mission would be a success – but there’s more. Phase Two allows you to expand the one week summer outreach into a year-round ministry to impact your community for Christ.
Step Five: We provide the tools and training your church volunteers will need to take the Gospel back into the public schools of Denver. 80 percent of public school students don’t attend church, you can reach them with the Gospel through an after-school Good News Club. In June of 2001 the Supreme Court affirmed the right of CEF to meet in the public schools on the same basis as other organizations.
