75 Hours of Prayer
The Lord has been faithful in sustaining and expanding the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship for 75 years, 1937 – 2012. Next month we will be celebrating His faithfulness during a series of special events at our international headquarters in Warrenton, Missouri, USA.
One of those events is called 75 Hours of Prayer. Prayer has always been the foundation of CEF ministry and this is the major reason why today children are being evangelized and discipled in 176 nations around the world. So, beginning at 7am on Tuesday, May 15, CEF staff, volunteers and guests here at headquarters will be joining together to pray for 75 consecutive hours, culminating with a corporate prayer meeting from 8:00am – 10:00am on Friday, May 18. During these 75 hours we will be praising God for who He is, thanking Him for what He has done, and crying out to Him for the salvation of children around the world. We will also be praying for the establishment of CEF ministry in the 32 nations where there currently is none, for the provision of workers and finances, for unity at every level, and for much more.
This is how it will work here at our international headquarters: we will begin and end each day with 30 minutes of corporate prayer with everyone participating; in between staff, volunteers and guests will take turns praying; and overnight we will have “prayer hosts” who will pray the entire night at the headquarters and welcome those who are able to join in for a period of time.
As the 75 Hours of Prayer is taking place at the international headquarters, I want to encourage you to think about how the CEF family in your area can join us. As you consider this I am sure the Lord will guide you in the very best way to lead your staff and volunteers in participating in this 75 Hours of Prayer.
As the worldwide CEF family joins together during these 75 hours and pours out its heart before the face of the Lord for the salvation of boys and girls, I am confident that God will hear, answer and do a marvelous work that will have a profound effect not only on this generation but on future ones as well. “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16).
Thank you for faithfully serving the Lord. He has used you and is using you to carry His Gospel to the hearts of the children. I count it a privilege to serve together with you in this ministry.
