No Time For The Bible

Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. Each week the teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials from CEF Press. This action-packed time also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson’s theme.“We have no time for the Bible,” the father said when asked if his family would like to attend our Bible club in East London. However, he took a booklet that explained the Gospel. Four days passed and the family arrived at the Bible club. The leaders of the club were so excited to have the family there. The children started to tell everyone stories from the Bible. When they asked the children where they heard the stories, the children replied, “Our father read us the Bible booklet every night.” Last July a team from Northern Ireland went to the bustling city of London to work alongside our CEF family. As they walked through the streets, the first thing they noticed was the vast amount of people from different backgrounds and religions—many who had not heard the life-changing Gospel message even once!

As with all CEF ministries, the purpose of Good News Club is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.

It was amazing to see children and their parents from many different religions coming to the clubs each day to hear for the very first time the powerful Gospel message. One girl who came to the club said, “The best thing about the club was learning about Jesus!” It was also a privilege to answer questions about the Bible. One child made the comment, “Wow, God still loves me even though I have done wrong things against Him.” Throughout the week God was not just speaking to the children but also to their parents. Many would come to us and ask, “Why do you want to give up your time to do these clubs for free?” God gave them the opportunity to then tell the parents the Good News about Jesus. As we went into the different parks to have 5-Day Clubs, it seemed impossible that families from other religions would send their children to learn more about the Lord Jesus. But we serve a God who makes the impossible possible!
