Stories from CEF
We see many plans, programs, dreams, and goals already set and expect to reach more children, train more teachers, open more doors, translate more materials, and much more. But most important, we seek to love the Lord more, worship Him more, know Him more and serve Him until He returns!
Sometimes children’s ministry consists of perfectly scripted Bible stories and cleverly choreographed songs. Other times it goes deeper, reaching a raw and humble place where your plan dissolves and the only thing left is the light of Jesus.
At that time a missionary shared the Gospel with my parents and within a few months both accepted Christ as their Savior. To please this nice man I, too, said I wanted Jesus as my Savior. But inside I did not see myself—the “good little girl”—as a sinner.
One little boy who attends a Good News Club® in Pennsylvania is very shy and quiet, but his GNC® teachers are always noticing his beautiful smile. As a baby, the boy was physically abused and suffered brain damage.
When the opportunity came to promote Good News Club® at a Halloween themed back-to-school night, Hannah jumped at the chance. Hannah, administrative assistant for Carroll County in Maryland, and her team donned their Good News Club t-shirts and set up their table in the crowded shopping mall.
Two years ago I discovered the Good News Club® (GNC™) through my niece, Maggie, who attended the club on Saint Simons Island. My sister told me that Maggie came home every Wednesday filled with excitement because of a new Bible story that she couldn’t wait to share with family and friends.
