“The Romans want more and more taxes. They’ve taken over all of Israel. Will we ever be free from them? Roman soldiers are everywhere. If the Messiah comes, He’ll set us free. He’ll save Israel! If only He would come. It seems like such a long time since God promised to send a deliverer for Israel. Maybe this man called Jesus is the Messiah. Maybe He will save us from the Romans and make us a great nation again.”
