CEF® is a Bible-centered, interdenominational, worldwide organization, composed of born-again believers whose purpose and mission are to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God, and establish them in a Bible-believing church for Christian living.

The ministry coordinator for CEF of Nebraska Inc., Omaha Chapter, performs the planning, execution, and supervision of direct ministry to children in accordance with our Child Evangelism Fellowship® Culture Points.

Qualifications

The Ministry Coordinator must:

  • Be a born-again believer who feels called of God to the ministry of child evangelism.
  • Possess leadership qualities as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  • Be knowledgeable of Biblical Scripture, demonstrate spiritual growth, and be able to communicate God’s
    Word to others.
  • Demonstrate love for Jesus Christ and prayer, and an unquestionable passion to reach kids with the
    Gospel.
  • Love the local church and other Christian organizations and value them as ministry partners.
  • Possess skills to identify other leaders, organize groups, cast vision and evaluate the ministry programs.

Ministry

  • Understand that the foundation of ministry is prayer and lead by example in being committed to
    participating and working toward the growth of an effective local prayer program.
  • Assist the local director in establishing and maintaining church partnerships which will fulfill the purpose
    of CEF®: evangelize, disciple and establish the next generation to God and His church.
  • Be willing to participate in direct ministry with children, including teaching in various CEF ministries to
    maintain an understanding of today’s child and to adequately address the effectiveness of CEF programs.
  • Be able to identify students (grades 9 – college) who may be potential CYIA Missionaries, and personally participates in
    CYIA as assigned by state leadership, and help CYIA become/remain successful.
  • Serve as a liaison between CEF and the church.
  • Visit clubs to provide prayer, encouragement, counsel, and direction.

Leadership

  • Work with the local director in providing vision and strategic plans for evangelizing and discipling all
    children within the chapter, striving to establish them with local churches.
  •  Meet regularly with and lead ministry staff and volunteers to provide encouragement, counsel, and
    direction.
  • Be a model of God’s ideal of servant leaders.
  • Work with the local committee in raising sufficient funds for the ministry.
  • Train, prepare, support, and lead volunteers as they carry out ministry.
  • Develop leadership skills in ministry staff, volunteers, and summer missionaries.
  • Plan and organize training for ministry volunteers.

Administrative

  • Ensure that all CEF policies and procedures are followed, and proper governance is maintained.
  • Keep accurate and complete records.
  •  Working with office staff to ensure all volunteer applications, interviews and reference checks, Statements
    of Faith, and Child Protection paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Secure locations to conduct the various ministries of Child Evangelism Fellowship.
  • Work with schools, churches, and individuals to fulfill CEF ministry, completing necessary paperwork,
    scheduling clubs and other events, and working with volunteers.
  • Make sure all necessary materials are provided to club teams.
  • Communicate accurately about the current state of ministry to the local director and local committee.
  • Attend all state-office-sponsored meetings as requested by the state director or board.

Rhythm

Whirlwind (Weekly/monthly recurring tasks)

  • Meets weekly with ministry director and team.
  • Submits facility use forms for all current GNC schools.
  • Assist Good News Club teams with GNC booth for Back-to-School nights/Open houses.
  • Prepares GNC small group activities and church partnership kits.
  • Teaches, visits and subs at assigned Good News Clubs.
  • Works with Office admin to track all paperwork, stats, and contact information for GNC teams.
  • Facilitates an appreciation process for school principals.
  • Calls assigned GNC leaders on monthly basis.
  • Follows up with all assigned churches to schedule future ministry programs.
  • Designs flyers and determines promotion plan for all Good News Clubs and party clubs.
  • Schedules and teaches Summer Good News Club.
  • Communicates key training dates to churches and volunteers.
  • Helps to capture “God at work” stories for communicating with stake holders.
  • Raises Ministry Vital Partners and communicates with them (prayer shield).
  • Assists as needed with ministry fundraising and events.
  • Meets monthly with Ministry Director.
