Tough Questions from Kids

My friend’s grandpa passed away and I’m scared that he is trying to haunt me. Is he?

-Wallace Grant No, he is not trying to haunt you. There is no such thing as a ghost. Your imagination may be causing you to be afraid. Maybe you have seen his body at the funeral home. Seeing someone dead can be hard for a young person. Ask the Lord Jesus who has promised never to leave you (Heb. 13:5) to take a scary thought from your mind. Thank the Lord that He is with you to protect you from bad thoughts.
When thoughts of your friend’s grandpa come to your mind ask God to help you think about something else. God tells us in Philippians 4:8 to think about things that are lovely and good. You could think of a Bible story you know and go over the details in your mind. This way there will not be any room to think of ghosts and other wrong things! Satan, God’s enemy and your enemy, would like you to be afraid and troubled but you have nothing to be afraid of. Trust God’s special promise in 1 John 4:4, “You, dear children, are from God…because the one [Jesus] who is in you is greater than the one [Satan] who is in the world.”
