Why Good News Club?
I was encouraged to receive the following testimony from a ministry partner:
Fifty-six years ago, I became a Christ-follower at Good News Club® in my neighbor’s house. Recently while watching an online church service, I saw an announcement about Good News Clubs. Through that I tracked you down. Your organization changed my life for eternity, and I am grateful!
God not only used the Good News Club to transform her life in 1968, but He also continues to use them to change the lives of children in the U.S. and around the world. In 2023, there were 84,244 Good News Clubs conducted around the world, reaching 4,427,378 children. GNC™ is the main ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship®.
Our loving Lord Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them . . .” (Matt. 19:14 ESV). Children are precious to Him. There is no salvation except through Jesus Christ. Through GNC, children hear the Good News of Jesus and learn how to grow spiritually so they can enjoy God now and forever.
Good News Club clearly presents the Gospel message to children, guides them to grow as disciples of Christ through God’s Word and prayer, and helps them become anchored in a local church. Over the past 87 years this ministry has been effective in different cultures around the world.
Good News Club is fun and engaging.
Boys and girls enjoy stories, games, songs, competition, encouragement, personal attention, and hearing about God’s love.
Good News Club is evangelistic and biblically rich.
Well trained workers teach Bible lessons that offer a clear Gospel presentation with key truths about how to grow as a child of God. Missionary stories challenge children to participate in the Great Commission from an early age. Children are taught to memorize God’s Word and are encouraged to have a daily quiet time. They also receive application and take-home resources to help them live out God’s Word.
Good News Club produces life-changing results.
We have seen amazing changes in children’s lives after they hear the Gospel and receive Jesus Christ as Savior. Sometimes parents or siblings notice a change and also believe. A pastor in Ohio talked about two sisters who attended an after-school GNC sponsored by his church. The teaching from God’s Word caused their lives to radically change. This transformation was evident to their parents. One day the mother was ready to believe in Jesus. Their father, a recovering alcoholic, also believed. All four were baptized and attend the church.
Good News Club helps local churches fulfill the Great Commission to evangelize children in their community.
CEF provides training and materials for churches so they can adopt a school nearby and host a GNC there. It is legal to conduct a GNC after school in any public school that is open to outside groups using their facility. This is an amazing opportunity. Churches around the world can start a GNC where they want to plant a church. As the children and community become involved, this gathering can eventually become a church.
Good News Club empowers parents to raise their children in the faith.
God commanded parents to teach the Word of God to their children (Genesis 18:19; Deuteronomy 6:7-8, Proverbs 22:6). Although parents have the primary responsibility to train their children spiritually, many do not know how. Most children learn little or nothing at all about God. They need spiritual parents to evangelize and disciple them.
Children are victims of the current generation. Its secular values, immorality, and wickedness are leaving them in darkness. We must rescue boys and girls from sin by reaching them with the Gospel. Helping our children grow into men and women of God with a Christian worldview and biblical values is a worthy investment.
Outside of our churches, where else can a child be reached with the Gospel, build a God-centered worldview, and learn the principles of biblical living? Good News Clubs are a lighthouse in a child’s life. I long to see Good News Clubs in 70,000 schools in America, as well as in schools, villages, cities, islands, and mountains around the globe so that the world’s children will become a great army of God. Will you join us to take the Good News of Jesus to boys and girls?
