Child Evangelism Fellowship® is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.

Local Director Potential Salary: $45,000

The Local Director of the Anne Arundel & Prince George Counties Chapter  of CEF Maryland Inc., will be  responsible for fulfilling the purpose of Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc., executing the vision of Maryland state board and USA Ministries while overseeing all aspects of the local chapter.

Local Ministry

  • Understand the foundation of ministry is prayer. You will lead by example, committed to implementing, and growing an effective local prayer program.
  • Aggressively pursues church partnerships which will fulfill the purpose of CEF.
  • Evangelize, disciple and establish the next generation to God and His church.
  • Is able to identify, recruit, and disciple others to become an effective team, serving God in this ministry.
  • Is involved in a minimum level of direct ministry with children to maintain an understanding of today’s child and to adequately evaluate the effectiveness of CEF programs such as Good News Club®.
  • Has ability to identify students (grades 9 – college) who may be potential Christian Youth In Action® candidates.
  • Personally participates in CYIA as assigned by state leadership, and assist in the success of the CYIA program.
  • Develops, and enhances ministry effectiveness throughout the chapter.

Local Leadership

  • Collaborates with the local committee in accomplishing strategic plans for evangelizing and discipling all children within the chapter, striving to establish them with local churches.
  • Meets regularly with ministry staff and volunteers to provide encouragement, counsel, and direction.
  • Assists ministry staff and volunteers to achieve ministry goals.
  • Encourages the local committee to complete committee training.
  • Collaborates with the local committee in raising sufficient funds for the ministry.
  • Annually assess ministry staff.
  • Recognizes and advances leadership skills in ministry staff, volunteers, and summer missionaries.
  • Oversees and routinely evaluates the teacher training program.

Administrative

  • Inspects staff for compliance of all CEF policies and procedures.
  • Maintains proper governance.
  • Keeps accurate and complete records.
  • Collaborates with the local committee to develop an annual budget. Submit budget to the state director for state board approval annually.
  • Ensures that all reports, minutes, communications, money, and donor receipts are submitted as required.
  • Communicates accurately about the chapter condition to the state director and local committee.
  • Attends all state-office-sponsored meetings as requested by the state director.

Qualifications

Anne Arundel & Prince George Counties Chapter is seeking a committed servant of God who is walking daily with Him and demonstrates great faith. We want someone who exuberates a friendly and cheerful disposition. The candidate must confidently believe in God’s calling on their life. Prayer will be a daily practice. The chosen leader will have a passion for reaching children with the Gospel and desire to serve the local church. The prescribed requirements for this position, are as follows:

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
  • Radiates love for Jesus Christ and prayer with an unquestionable passion to reach kids with the Gospel.
  • Has a growth mindset as a continual learner. Maintain relevancy, while strategizing as a team.
  • Ambitiously leads a team that is diverse in skills, experience and culture.
  • Loves people and the local church and as a result, is able to build rapport.
  • Values other Christian organizations as ministry partners.
  • Identifies other leaders, organize groups, cast vision and evaluate programs.
  •  Will complete one year of Bible college training. (Candidates may be allowed to test out of this requirement. Qualification can be fulfilled for free at biblicaltraining.org)
  • Candidate possesses basic competency in computer software, such as Microsoft.
  • The candidate will complete the 12-week Children’s Ministries Institute within the first two years of ministry, including a mentorship program.
  • The local director has the potential compensation of $45,000 annually, with the expectation of collaborating with the local committee to solicit financial support as a Christian Missionary in the USA.
