ST. LOUIS — Since 1937, Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) has offered biblically sound, Christ-centered curriculum to help reach children and support churches.

CEF provides Bible lessons and curriculum for preschool through middle school, covering the Old and New Testaments, which teach the Gospel, show the problem and biblical solution, and guide children to salvation and in discipleship. Materials include kits designed for the Good News Club®, an after-school, Bible-based program for children ages 5–12, and 5-Day Club®, a dynamic program conducted over several consecutive days. CEF also offers a range of devotional books that deliver daily guidance with age-appropriate Bible passages and teachings. These materials are also used in Sunday schools and junior church programs around the world.

On an episode of CEF’s podcast “Fellowship One:Seven™,” Dean Hunsucker, Executive Director of Global Literature, expanded on the organization’s mission to distribute ministry materials worldwide.

Hunsucker shared, “Some of our literature is available in 93 languages, with a goal of producing everything in the top eight and expanding into 30 key trade languages in the near future.”

Crucial to this effort are the many workers who translate CEF’s compelling content for an increasingly diverse audience.

“We have a tremendous network of people who are willing to dedicate their time to make sure that lessons are in their specific language. It’s a huge process that involves hundreds of people around the world,” remarked Hunsucker.

This effort allows materials created in one part of the world to be adapted for translation, so the most culturally relevant resources are distributed globally for maximum impact.

Hunsucker highlights two resources resulting from this international collaboration: CEF’s “Do You Wonder Why?”, a booklet which has been translated into 19 languages and speaks to universal questions such as, Why do so many bad things happen in the world? Why did God allow this to happen? How can I get through this terrible time? The booklet addresses the reality of sin, acknowledges that we may not always know why suffering occurs and shares the hope of salvation, reminding readers that Jesus never leaves those who place their faith and trust in Him.

CEF’s Wonder Devotional Books are thoughtful, engaging guides featuring 60 devotionals designed to help children develop a lifelong, daily habit of enjoying God’s Word and applying it to their lives.

Hunsucker highlighted a European country, where 1.7 million copies of “A Free Gift For You” were distributed through Christmas Party Clubs, sharing the true meaning of Christmas. One child there said, “I will never forget this Christmas,” because for the first time, she understood why the holiday is celebrated.

“God opens doors in the most unbelievable ways,” said Hunsucker. “Some things we do involve immense challenges, whether crossing hostile borders or entering war-torn regions. In each situation, we’ve been able to get literature across the border and to children. It’s remarkable how far CEF’s global reach extends, made possible by a network that has been built and strengthened over more than 80 years.

“Ultimately, our goal is to reach 100 million children per year by 2032. And we know it can be done with God’s help.”

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), founded in 1937, has been establishing the Good News Club® in countries around the world for decades.

In 2024, more than 31 million children worldwide heard or read the Good News through CEF ministries.
